My educational background:

BS Communications, Clarion University of Pennsylvania and almost 25 years of consuming everything I can concerning improvisational theatre (books, websites, videos and podcasts.)

My certifications:

Nothing official on a university diploma or sheepskin, but 25 years (celebrating in 2026) as an improvisational theatre professional and educator, 19 years as the Founder and Executive Director of Planet Improv, Incorporated and 8 years as the Founder and President of Planet Improv Educational Services, LLC.

My social/emotional trainings:

I consider myself a very empathetic person and, after almost 25 years of being an educator, I believe I have as good of a theory as to why students do what they do as anyone can, but am always on my toes for the zig when I thought they would zag.

My favorite teacher from my past:

The teacher go gave me the “radio play” assignment and my public speaking teacher.

What do I love about Epiphany?

The students always surprise me in the best possible way.

How does teaching and working with children inspire me?

Their optimism and enthusiasm keeps me mentally young.

Any board game that offers creativity and imagination.

My favorite book:

Any book about improvisational theatre.

My favorite character, cartoon, or superhero:

I love all entertainment sources and their characters, but I especially love playing/creating an improv character.

My Interests and hobbies:

Movies, television, podcasts, performing, educating, motivating and introducing or enriching the love of creativity and imagination.

My origins, travels and/or adventures:

I was born and raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I have only been outside the United States three times: once in Canada and twice in the Bahamas.  I would like to visit Italy one day (I am half Italian and half German.) Living my daily life to its fullest is my grandest adventure.

My favorite thing to do, place to go, or eatery in Charlotte:

After 30 years of living in Charlotte, I am still experiencing new places and fun things to do and see.
